“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace  of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Phil 4:6-7

Praise God

  • that He alone is Sovereign
  • in control of all He has created
  • take comfort in His almighty power and infinite love

Thank God

  • for not forsaking us in this crisis despite our waywardness
  • for drawing everyone closer together to focus on helping others, especially the sick and vulnerable
  • for small acts of kindness and the opportunity to be kinder (name those known to you)

Ask the Spirit

  • to direct all the medical and research staff to find effective treatments and cures not only for Covid-19 but for all sickness
  • to comfort the bereaved and those who have suffered any kind of loss, including the loss of visitors (name those known to you)
  • to speak to hearts that are fearful of the future or struggling in body, mind or soul – especially those facing local spikes in Covid-19 eg Leicester

Petition our Lord

  • to lay His healing hand on individuals who are sick or recovering from illness (name those known to you), including all affected by the attack in Glasgow this past week
  • to forgive us for taking our blessings and our relationships for granted in our family and church family

Remembering

  • that our Lord is trustworthy
  • that His Word is eternal
  • that His saving love can strengthen and renew our church
  • as well as healing our nation.

In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen
