“Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action”

1 John 3:18

Our Father who…

  • loves each one of us with a perfect love that drives out fear
  • is worthy of our love because He first loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might truly live

Thank you, God, for…

  • the opportunities you send us every day to show love to others – our family, friends, neighbours and even strangers
  • accepting us, just as we are, with all our failures and flaws
  • persisting in transforming our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh through your Spirit

Forgive us, Lord, when we…

  • complain, criticise or judge others rather than examine our own behaviours
  • sow seeds of division and disunity rather than promote harmony and fellowship
  • are blind to our own self-righteousness which has no place in your Kingdom

Grant, Lord…

  • all that we need on a day-to-day basis for the good of our bodies, minds and souls
  • comfort for all who mourn the loss of a loved one whether because of death or separation (name those known to you)
  • relief for areas of our world, like India, suffering because of the devastating effects of Covid-19
  • wisdom and compassion to all in authority so that global solutions may be found to this pandemic

For we remember, God, that…

  • yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is yours
