Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.’
Psalm 139:23
Come to the Lord who…
knows each one of us intimately, familiar with all our ways
is ever-present, even in the darkest places of our lives
Thank you Father for …
- guiding us, through your Word and through your Spirit
- never leaving us but holding us fast
- waiting patiently for us to return to you and your will for us, as individuals, as a community, as a nation and as the world
Forgive us when …
- we don’t acknowledge your authority over the whole of creation
- we don’t trust in your power over evil in our hearts or in the world
- we push ourselves forward as a priority instead of considering others before ourselves
Grant,Lord …
- a humble spirit and a willing heart for each of us in the pursuit of your Kingdom
- encouragement for those who are disheartened and weary of these times, especially our healthcare workers
- wisdom and compassion for ourselves and for all the authorities in the decisions they have to make in this pandemic
For we are confident, Lord, that you …
love us graciously with an unfailing love
can lead us away from earthly concerns to the way everlasting
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen
